The Japanese Grand Prix offers every year an interesting entertaining supporting programme.
As at other circuits that host F1 races, Suzuka offers a great prize Fanzone during the race weekend, where you can enjoy refreshments, buy souvenirs and have fun. The main Fanzone at Suzuka is located right outside the main gate.
Near the fanzone there is also an amusement park known as Suzuka Circuit Park, which is open during the Grand Prix. The amusement park is primarily for children aged 2 to 10, but older children and adults can also find fun there.
Getting to the riders is not easy during F1 weekends. However, with a little luck and inventiveness, it is possible to snag a valuable autograph from one of the driving stars. One option is Thursday's Pit Lane Walk, an opportunity to walk a pit lane that can be purchased in excess of the ticket price. Then you can bump into an F1 driver outside the paddock: this is also a chance to snag an autograph or selfie. However, keep in mind that it's important to treat the drivers with respect.
Take advantage of "Free Friday"
If you have a grandstand ticket and a full weekend pass, you can watch the free practice sessions on Friday from any grandstand that is currently free (the event does not apply to grandstand V2 along the finish straight only). As part of the so-called Free Friday, you can watch the action on the track from different stands without having to pay anything extra.
Enjoy the Ferris wheel
One of Suzuka's landmarks is the Ferris wheel, which you can even ride for free with a three-day ticket. The observation wheel is located behind the finishing straight and we recommend going to it on the Thursday before the race, when it is not so crowded and there are no long queues.
