In Japan, you should obey the following speed limits
Urban Areas: The typical speed limit is 40 km/h (25 mph).
Rural Roads: The limit is usually 50-60 km/h (31-37 mph).
Expressways: The speed limit is typically 80-100 km/h (50-62 mph).
Traffic Lights: Red means stop, yellow means prepare to stop, and green means go.
Arrows on traffic lights indicate turns.
Stop Signs: In Japan, stop signs are triangular and read "止まれ" (tomare), meaning "stop".
Priority Signs: Pay attention to "yield" and "no entry" signs to navigate intersections and restricted areas safely.
If you're stopped by the police in Japan and have a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.03% or higher, you are considered legally intoxicated and guilty of drunk driving. The legal thresholds are 0.3 milligrams of alcohol per millilitre of blood or 0.15 millilitres of alcohol per litre of breath.
Mandatory for all passengers. Children under six must use a child safety seat.
